CANNING COLLEGE
Canning College offers mature-aged people a chance to improve their career opportunities with re-entry courses and education programs. CENTRAL TAFE

Changes to the School Leaving Age
The Department of Education and Training’s Participation Directorate can help students, parents / caregivers, schools and employers with information regarding the changes to the school leaving age. In 2008 the leaving age rose from 16 years of age to 17 years of age. Students now have to stay at school, attend TAFEWA, have an apprenticeship or traineeship or be in meaningful employment until the end of the year they turn 17. Of interest to parents and caregivers are the Parents as Career Partners seminars which are delivered by the Employment Directions Network.
